Course Description - 57.542 Technology Applications for the Classroom (3) - Explores the role of technology in the classroom. Special emphasis is placed on the use of technology as a mind tool to create a constructivist, higher-order thinking and learning environment. Students become proficient in a wide range of technologies and apply the instructional systems design process to all projects.

New teachers could search for lesson ideas, plans and projects to help them during their first year of teaching.
Teachers could look for ways to incorporate the Career, Education and Work standards into their core curriculum classes since we eliminated our Careers class this year.
Teachers can search for ways to incorporate the writing standards into their classes to help our students improve their writing skills. We have a building initiative to incorporate more writing across the curriculum.
Teachers can search for different videos to present their curriculum that will address the different learning styles of their students.
Teachers can search for different materials to present their curriculum that will address the different learning styles of their students.
Teachers can watch videos of other teachers to see the techniques ‘in action’.
Teachers can find new worksheets and other materials to freshen their lessons if they have been covering the same curriculum for many years.
Teachers can use the State standard language to help formulate essential questions for students.
Teachers can search the standards as they prepare cross-curricular lessons to incorporate standards from other subject areas in their lessons.
Teachers can use the materials to learn other teachers across the state and see how they incorporate the standards in their classes.
